Trip to Sequoia, August 2010
This was our second trip with R2. We were meeting my brother and his family for a week in the trees. We spent the first night at a commercial campground that had full hook-ups, which meant there was a sewer connection. It was our first time with full hook-ups... I think dumping the black tank for the first time was more never-wracking than anything! But we did it just fine. The only problem was that we had a junky, old sewer hose that sprung some pin-hole leaks. Yuck! I promptly replaced it with a heavy duty hose, and have not had any leaks since. We then made our way up to Ponderosa and the rental house we had reserved before we bought the trailer. No way were we leaving the trailer at home! We just parked it out on the street and pretended we were camping. We checked out Redwood and Quaking Aspen Campgrounds, which both seemed to be very popular. I'd go back up there in a heartbeat. Big trees, clean air, peace and quiet... what's not to like?! We hiked around a bit, did some bike riding, found a great place for swimming... as long as you like cold water! All in all, it was a very relaxing trip. I think we need to go back.
